Wandelbots revolutionizes the way how industrial robots are programmed and used. In contrast to traditional manual programming of robots, Wandelbots enables non-programmers to teach robots by demonstration with wearables. Based on our motion capturing system with a smart jacket and a data glove, human motion is transferred to robots in real-time. People can show industrial robots how a task is performed, based on demonstration. The software backend employs novel machine learning techniques to automatically generate automation processes using several observed demonstrations. Our first pilots have shown, that this approach will lower the implementation time of control software for robots by a factor of 10 and will dramatically lower the implementation cost.
The Wandelbox is agnostic to the manufacturer, type, version and programming interface of robots as well as the surrounding IT infrastructure (e.g., MES Systems). In order to support a certain type of robot or specific interface, adapters have to be developed. Furthermore, robotic-specific features have to be integrated. The goal of this position is the integration of additional robots (e.g., ABB, Fanuc) and end-effectors (e.g., Schunk gripper) and support the integration of backend systems. We are looking for an ambitous and open-minded automation engineer with experience in the design, implementation and integration of robotic applications in industry (i.e., assembly). Because there is no concept that compares to the Wandelbox, we need engineers that are willing and able to re-think traditional processes and bring in their own creativity to help us make our vision reality.
